Vietnamese Buddhist monk Thích Nhất Hạnh (1926–2022) was peace activist, prolific author, poet and teacher. He founded the Plum Village Tradition, a prime example of engaged Buddhism. Nhất Hạnh was a major influence on Western practices of Buddhism.
