The Center for Action and Contemplation Is Growing
Many people look at the state of our culture, politics and the pain in the world, and they don’t know what to do. There is a growing sense—both inside and outside religious contexts—that we need role models and teachers to help us evolve into a deeper experience of love and connection to one another and to the cosmos.
At the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC), we believe that the best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better. We are actively working to build the non-oppositional world that we want to live in through re-introducing a wisdom lineage, rooted in the Christian tradition, that leads to the transformation of individuals, communities, and the world.
For the last 30 years, the CAC has been at the forefront of shaping spiritual thought and practice, giving a platform to Father Richard Rohr’s prophetic voice. What began with cassette-recordings and local actions is now a world-class publishing, events, and educational organization that serves hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Our programs address people’s innermost spiritual needs and connect them more deeply to their true selves.
This year, after a lengthy process, the CAC is embarking on a new chapter. We now have the resources and the plan to launch our Future State Vision, which includes doubling our staff size over the next few years in order to partner with an expanded faculty of teachers (including Cynthia Bourgeault and James Finley), dramatically improve the quality of our content production, enhance the participant experience of our programs, and intentionally distribute our content to new audiences.
Now we are on the look-out for passionate, grounded, and talented professionals to help get us there. As a part of our team, you will help us shape the future of the CAC. You will be a part of co-creating an impactful organization that is grounded in an ancient wisdom tradition, yet utilizes modern tools and technology to create a more peaceful future.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily suspended registering new volunteers at the CAC. As circumstances change, we hope and expect to offer volunteer opportunities in the future. We greatly appreciate your support!
If you are currently registered to volunteer, you can still access your volunteer information here.
