The trailer for Richard Rohr’s new book “The Tears of Things”, making art is a metaphor for the prophetic process — but it also stands for prophetic process itself. The aggressive strokes reflect pain, his hammering evokes anger, and the water and tears represent our collective grief resolving into compassion. (Learn more about the visual symbols included in the featured painting by Noé Barnett.)

To create this trailer, CAC staff worked with Noé Barnett, a visual artist who lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Primarily known for his murals seen around Albuquerque, Denver, Houston, and elsewhere, Noé was inspired by the message and symbolism in Richard Rohr’s newest work.
