Email Subscription FAQs

What are Daily Meditations?

Richard Rohr's Daily Meditations are free email reflections sent every day of the year. Learn more about Daily Meditations here.

How do I sign up for Fr. Richard’s Daily Meditations?

Click here and enter your email address, first and last name, country, and your choice of e-mail list. Please watch your email (both inbox, junk/spam mail folders, and Promotions Tab [Gmail users only]) for your subscription. Daily Meditations will begin the following day, Weekly Summaries will begin the next Saturday, and Monthly News will be sent the following month or sooner depending on when you subscribed.

Can I receive only the Daily Meditations or only the CAC News?

You may choose to receive messages from CAC on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The "Monthly" option does not include the Daily Meditations. All CAC email lists (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) include monthly news updates from CAC. If you would like to only see Daily Meditations, we invite you to visit our Daily Meditation's Archive on a daily basis instead of receiving them by email.

How do I access old Daily Meditations?

Explore the online archive of Daily Meditations: click here or see the right sidebar (at the bottom of the page on mobile devices) for individual months or use the search bar to find a keyword or topic on the Daily Meditation's page. Check back from time to time as we add previous messages from 2015. You may find recent meditations on CAC's Facebook page or @CACRadicalGrace on Twitter. The 2013 meditations are available in book form, Yes, And . . ., from the CAC bookstore.

How do I unsubscribe from CAC’s email list?

If you would like to unsubscribe, please click the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any Daily Meditation, Weekly Summary, or CAC News from New Mexico. A form will open in a new browser window. If you wish to unsubscribe from all CAC emails (except for transactional emails), select “Unsubscribe me from all CAC subscription emails.” Alternatively, you may change how often we send you emails, selecting Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Confirm your First Name, Last Name, and Email address, and click the Submit button.

How do I change the email address for which I’ve signed up to receive emails from the CAC?

If you would like to change your email address, click here and fill out the necessary information. Your email address will be changed immediately in our records.

I signed up to receive CAC emails but I am not receiving them. What can I do to ensure I receive your messages?

  1. Check your junk/spam mail folder; if you find our message there, mark as “not junk.” If you use Gmail, also check your Promotions tab (click here to learn more about Gmail’s inbox categories and tabs).
  2. Please add the following email addresses to your Online Address book or Safe Senders list: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].
  3. If you previously received CAC’s emails but are no longer getting them (and they are not in junk/spam or Promotions), you may have been unsubscribed. Please sign up again here.
  4. Allow at least 24 hours after you have added CAC’s email addresses to your address book or signed up for the Daily list. If you still have not received our emails, your email service provider (ESP) may be blocking our messages. In this case, you will need to contact your ESP directly and request that emails from our various Internet Provider (IP) addresses be accepted. Click here to download a letter that you can customize with your own details and send to your ESP. To read more about why some email service providers block emails, click here.
  5. If you need additional support, email us at techass[email protected].

I have a Gmail email address and I am no longer receiving the Daily Meditations. Is something wrong?

As of April 2014, Gmail conducted a security upgrade to their spam filters in response to the technology bug "Heartbleed". This affected how CAC emails appear in Gmail Inboxes. The Daily Meditations and other CAC emails are now initially routed to the Junk/Spam mail folders or Promotions Tab (Don't know where your Promotion's Tab is? Click here. Please note that you may not be able to see your Promotions Tab from a smartphone mail app and will need to login to your Gmail account from a web browser). If you need help finding those folders, please click here for a PDF with screenshots.

How can I share the Daily Meditations on Facebook or Twitter?

1) At the bottom of each email, use the “Like” button to show your friends on Facebook that you’ve liked this message. Use the “Tweet” button to share a short message and a link to the email. Use the “Forward” button to send an email. At this time, sharing the message to Facebook is not an option. 2) “Like” Center for Action and Contemplation on Facebook and “follow” @CACRadicalGrace on Twitter to see and share our daily posts. 3) Find the meditation you’d like to share in the online archive. Once you’re on the page you want to share, use the icons at the far left of the screen to post on Facebook or Twitter or to send an email.

May I forward the Daily Meditations to my friends or a large group?

You are welcome to forward the meditations to a few friends! Make sure you use the “Forward to a Friend” button at the top of the email or the “Forward” button at the bottom of the email.       Then enter the recipient’s name and address. You can add multiple recipients by clicking the + symbol. Following these steps (rather than forwarding as you might typically do) ensures that recipients won’t be able to accidentally unsubscribe you from CAC’s messages. If you want to share the Daily Meditations with more than a handful of friends (for example, your church or school), please invite them to subscribe at, to explore the online archive, or to follow CAC on Facebook and Twitter. We suggest that you copy and paste a short excerpt from the meditation and include your personal invitation to sign up for Richard Rohr’s free daily or weekly emails.

Can I use Daily Meditations in my small group?

Yes! Please cite Richard Rohr and the work from which the message was quoted or adapted, including the following information: “© YEAR, Center for Action and Contemplation. All rights reserved. Originally published at” If you are seeking to publish a Daily Meditation either online or in print, please contact CAC's Director of Messaging for permission before proceeding.

What versions of the Bible does Richard Rohr use and recommend?

Unless otherwise stated, Richard Rohr uses his own translation and/or paraphrase of Scripture. Father Richard draws from a variety of English translations including the Jerusalem Bible (JB), New American Standard Bible (NASB), New English Translation (NET), J.B. Phillips New Testament (Phillips), Revised Standard Version (RSV), and The Message. Guest writers may use their own preferred biblical translations. CAC practice is to reference chapter and verse for scriptural sources, but not to identify precise translations. Various versions of the Bible can be found and searched at, and The New Jerusalem Bible is available at

How can I print a meditation?

Print icon exampleWith Images: Use the print icon to the left of your screen on the particular Daily Meditation that you would like to print. This will open a "Print Preview" page within your web browser and you can select your personal print settings and print.

Without Images: Copy the text and paste it into a Word, Wordpad, Notepad document, or a similar program, print the meditation from the program. *Note: When using Word, you will need to delete the images before printing.

Why do you use certain images in the Daily Meditations?

Images used in Richard Rohr's Daily Meditations are for illustrative purposes only; image credits are provided for copyright purposes and/or as a courtesy to the original creators for use of the work. The images do not reflect the CAC's or Fr. Richard's agreement with, or promotion of, the views of those who create the images.

Why am I receiving multiple copies of the same email and how can I stop receiving duplicate emails?

Our email service sends emails out in batches. On occasion the batch is interrupted and sending must begin again, not always from where it left off. At this time there is nothing we can do to ensure you receive only one email from us, short of unsubscribing from our list(s).
