Mystics and Non-Dual Thinkers: Week 5

Feast of St. Clare of Assisi
Tuesday, August 11, 2015

A couple times a year we pause the Daily Meditations to ask for your support. Thanks to the generosity of many, the Center for Action and Contemplation is able to share my reflections free of charge every day of the year. Please take a few minutes to read a message from CAC’s Executive Director, Michael Poffenberger, about why this matters and how you can help. Tomorrow my meditations on the Mystics and Non-Dual Thinkers will continue with more on Teilhard de Chardin.

Dear Friend,

Today we celebrate the feast of Clare of Assisi (1193-1253). Clare’s name—Chiara in Italian—means clear light or transparent life. Clare’s humility allowed God’s light and love to shine through her. I hope that’s what the CAC can be—a clear mirror that reflects Love, revealing to you and thousands around the world the Light indwelling each being. If this is true for you, please consider supporting our work.

Estellee, one of our readers, writes: “Each morning Daily Meditations open my heart to the love and beauty around me. Father Richard’s messages remind me that I am never alone in my journey for God.”

Ken shares: “I’m just beginning my fifth year of starting each day with Friar Richard’s Daily Meditation, and it’s the first thing I do. . . . My life has been incredibly difficult for quite some time now, and I look to Richard for a spark of faith and hope that helps me carry on. I’m continually amazed at the awesome power of love he brings to this world, and I feel very fortunate to have a daily inspirational message waiting for me in my email inbox each morning.”

Born into a wealthy, noble family, Clare chose to follow the Gospel way of simplicity and poverty rather than retain her status and lifestyle of ease. As a non-profit, CAC has chosen to do our work simply for the reward of seeing lives transformed. We’re not in it for the money! Purchases from CAC’s bookstore and registration fees do not fully cover our operating expenses.

It’s only because of the generosity of many donors that we are able to:

  • Send free, daily email meditations to over 160,000 individuals worldwide.
  • Offer short webcast teachings for only $1 or whatever you can afford.
  • Provide financial assistance for CAC programs, including the Living School, online courses, and conferences and webcasts, to those for whom the cost is out of reach.

If you are able, please make a donation of any size (tax-deductible in the United States) to support this important work. You can contribute securely online by clicking here.  Or send a check (USD) to: CAC, P.O. Box 12464, Albuquerque, NM 87195.

We also welcome your prayers, your shares, your friendship and follows (on ).

With Clare we invite you: “Place your mind before the mirror of eternity! Place your soul in the brilliance of glory! And allow your entire being to be transformed into the image of the Godhead Itself through contemplation.”

Peace and Every Good,
