Help CAC Rebuild Spirituality From the Bottom Up

Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Dear Friend,

Every day the Center for Action and Contemplation offers messages to awaken a more compassionate and just world. As you read, we pray that your heart and mind will be opened to both receiving and giving away Love.

Twice a year we pause the Daily Meditations to invite your support so that we can keep sharing these messages, as we have since 2008, at no cost to hundreds of thousands around the globe. In tomorrow’s email, we’ll continue exploring Jesus as Scapegoat, the Crucified One who leads us down the transformative path.

If your life has been blessed in some way by the Daily Meditations, please take a minute to read a note from Michael, our Executive Director, about how you can help us rebuild spirituality “from the bottom up,” and make a donation today.

Friend,

I’ve been Executive Director at the Center for Action and Contemplation for three years now. The thing I love the most about my job is getting to hear from people whose lives have been changed because of Richard Rohr’s teaching and our work.

It feels so personal because the reason I’m here today is that my life was changed by the CAC too.

I was working in Washington, DC, for a human rights organization that tried to liberate child soldiers in central Africa. The hours were long, the job stressful, and the issue heartbreaking. There were many days that there was a lot more bad news than good.

Eventually, I burned out. I was losing my faith and wasn’t sure I could continue the work.

Then a mentor and friend introduced me to one of Richard’s books and encouraged me to attend a retreat. It was like finding water in the desert.

Nothing brings me greater joy than introducing others to this same work. In my experience, it is a source of hope and love in a world that needs both.

Our team of more than 20 people is working to provide Richard’s transformational teaching through Daily Meditations and by creating online courses, events, and more programs. Almost every day, we receive requests for new resources, community connections, study guides, and scholarships.

It’s your support that enables us to meet these needs.

We now offer hundreds of scholarships to conferences, the Living School, and courses. A few years ago, we also made the choice to make all of our short online webcasts available on a “pay what you can” basis.

But that’s just a start. We want to create even more offerings, available at low or no cost, that can bring healing to a broken world.

Your donations—even just a few dollars—make this possible.

If your life has been changed like mine has, if you’ve ever had a moment that feels like cool water in a desert, if you’ve found hope when you weren’t sure you were able to go on, if you’ve encountered the grand mystery of Love that binds us all together . . . I hope you’ll consider giving today.

If you’ve been blessed, would you be a blessing to others by supporting the CAC?

In deep gratitude,
